Orchard Place Lake 10
09.04.23
Lake 10 on the Orchard Place fishery at Paddock Wood, Kent, is a notoriously hard nut to crack but, Ray “The Fish” Smee, seems to have this water sussed and is the man to beat there at the moment with two good results in his last 2 visits. Drawn between the first two islands, Ray was biteless on the feeder for the first hour but a change to the long pole, with caster and maggot over groundbait, saw him land 8 good Ide, a Tench, Skimmers, Roach and Rudd for a creditable 20lb 06oz and victory.
Opposite Ray and second on the day with 17lb 09oz, was guest angler Peter Lea, who again fished the pole this time including a Barbel in his mainly Skimmer catch. A further species to turn up amongst the Skimmers and Roach was a tench of around 2lb for third placed Reg Pearce. Reg was drawn in the first arm of the lake finishing the day with an ounce short of 14lb.
Another guest angler, Terry Macdonald, came in fourth with a mixed catch of 11lb 08oz, which included two small Barbel.
